Lukashenko hears PM's report on cooperation with Russia, economy

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko heard a report from Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin on 2 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Following the recent talks in Moscow with the Russian leadership, the head of state gave relevant instructions to the government. The discussion focused on the implementation of specific agreements in various areas, including energy, industrial cooperation, agriculture and the plans for further interaction.

An important topic of the report to the president was the situation in the economy. In his report, the prime minister highlighted both encouraging developments, including GDP growth and positive momentum across several industries and also specific challenges that demand swift action from the government.

Separate attention was given to the industrial sector, where, in the prime minister’s assessment, the situation is uneven. The president was informed about the stable operation of many industrial entities that are successfully overcoming emerging difficulties. The discussion touched on the specific problems, particularly in machine building, and steps to rectify the situation.
